Katie
Katie Gaudet competing at the annual Ontario Farriers Convention contest.
Katie Gaudet is a Certified Farrier and has been working full time for 13 years, getting her start at the Canadian School of Farriery with Chris Zizian. She went on to apprentice and work with many of Ontario's top farriers. She specializes in therapeutic work and hunter/jumpers with a lot of successful horses out on the circuit. The love of the job, the industry and the horse is the driving force behind her work ethic.
Katie was born on a horse farm, and has been in a saddle for 30+ years...so It was a natural progression into farriery. She finds her riding ability and knowledge of the horse as a whole, is very useful for her career as a farrier as she can understand and apply the techniques used for a horse's feet to better them undersaddle.
When the farrier chaps are off, Katie is found in the barn working with young horses - a true passion. She has confidently brought along many horses, training them from the ground up for both english and western disciplines. Specializing in jumpers, she has successfully competed in Canada and U.S.A Circuit competitions at the 1.20m level.
